About Jodi

Jodi has always had three passions: horses, writing, and family.

Her family is her first priority. She has three wonderful sons. Two are college graduates. Her oldest earned a film degree from Montana State University and currently lives in Belgrade, MT.  Her middle son has a business degree from the University of Montana, Western, in Dillon (and a beautiful wife that Jodi considers a daughter). Both competed on their respective rodeo team. Her youngest is a senior in high school, finishing up online. He competes in rodeo and plans to rodeo for Western.

Jodi grew up riding horses, starting at age two. She showed horses as a youth, in all disciplines, from western, English, hunter-jumper, barrels, poles, and reining. She trained colts. And as a mom, passed her love of horses on to her sons, who each grew to love roping. She currently hauls her youngest son to rodeos so he can compete and proudly accepts her role as Rodeo Mom.

She has always loved writing, and has turned that love into a career. She currently has three children’s books published: ‘Til the Cows Come Home, a picture book – a western version of an old Jewish folk tale; a YA historical novel, America’s Betrayal, about the Japanese-American internment during World War II; a nonfiction book about freedom of speech. She has also done freelance work for various textbook companies and both online and traditional magazines. She had a story included in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Just Us Girls.

Recently published on Amazon: Because Daddy Was A Cowboy, a YA novel, and The Great Ca-Lamb-Ity of Crosby Crossing, a middle grade novel. Both are available as paperback and kindle editions.
